Hamilton Watch Company started out with the ideals to become the finest American watchmaker, and have been striving successfully to produce only the highest quality watches on the market. They started out in the late 19th century producing pocket watches, and in the years following they made a reputation for themselves as the makers of the highest caliber watches around. After starting to make wristwatches in the early 20th century, Hamilton has created some of the best American-made timepieces that are now highly prized collectibles. Models like the Spur, Pinehurst, and Piping Rock are all now much sought after as beautiful, older collectible watches.

Although Hamilton is no longer owned by an American company (they are a Swiss subsidiary), they continue to uphold the philosophies that founded the company in the first place. The watches and brand name are still about creating the finest watches on the market, but also being a responsible and environmentally-friendly company. One of the ventures recently taken up by Hamilton is the Khaki Conservation model which is a collaboration with Harrison Ford to support Conservation International.

In keeping with its American heritage, Hamilton is celebrating the 75th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s birth with two special Ventura models. The distinctive, shield-shaped watch was originally worn by Elvis in 1961 in his movie Blue Hawaii. The Ventura Quartz is a tribute to that original 1950s watch which made history by being the world’s first, electrical powered wristwatch. The other watch, the Ventura XXL is going to be a bold, contemporary look – something the King would have worn today. This timepiece integrates classic inspiration with futuristic details for a beautiful, unexpected look.

Hamilton is a great American watch making company through and through, which is evident by their values and philosophies behind each watch they create. Whether it’s a commemorative Elvis watch or a charitable, environmental timepiece, Hamilton strives to create simply great watches. Having a Hamilton watch means so much more than just having something to tell the time. Here are some great deals on eBay.
